Course Summary

The BSc in Accounting at EUC prepares students to achieve great success in today’s accounting industry.  Accountants are always in high demand.  A valuable and versatile degree, the program’s curriculum covers the most current knowledge and emphasizes the skills needed in the private and public sectors, and to pursue further qualifications through the leading professional accounting bodies—ACCA, ICAEW, AIA and CIMA. Students earn up to 9 exemptions for the ACCA and up to 12 exemptions for the ICAEW (ACA) while completing their bachelor’s degree to fast-track their completing professional qualifications.  Internships connect students with the “Big Four” global accounting firms as well as with other international and local accounting firms, corporations and government sector agencies.

    Exemptions from ACCA and ICEAW

    Accounting graduates qualify for 12 exemptions out of the 15 papers of the Association of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and 9 of the 13 papers of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).

How to apply

The general admission requirement for all undergraduate programs is the successful completion of the secondary education cycle. 

  • A completed application form together with a non-refundable fee of €52. 
  • Official copy of High School Leaving Certificate and grade mark sheet in English
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if any)*
  • Copy of a valid passport (for international applicants only)

Qualification requirements

The general admission requirement for all undergraduate programs is the successful completion of the secondary education cycle. All applicants will need to submit the following documents to the Office of Admissions

 

Student classification – as freshman, sophomore, junior or senior – depends upon the number of ECTS successfully completed. The ECTS for each classification are:

Freshman

0-60 ECTS

Sophomore

61-120 ECTS

Junior

121-180 ECTS

Senior

180 or more ECTS

 

Students may register as part-time or full-time, depending on ECTS per semester and period of study.

 Requirements for full-time students: 

*Fall and Spring Semester: up to 30 ECTS

*Summer Session: up to 15 ECTS

English language requirements

Knowledge of the English language is not a requirement for admission. At European University Cyprus, applicants whose native language is not English take the university’s English Placement Test (EPT) upon arrival at the university to indicate their English level and be placed in appropriate courses. Applicants who have passed either the TOEFL examination with a minimum score of 550 (213 computer-based, 79 Internet-based), English IGCSE with grade ‘C’ or above, or IELTS with a score of 6.5 or above are exempted from the EPT. Other external exams may be accepted by the Language Center of the University as equivalent. Please consult with the Office of Admissions for more details. Candidates, whose English proficiency is not up to the university’s standard, have the opportunity to take additional English language classes according to their degree requirements.
