Course Summary

Cyprus is a major tourist destination with world-class hotels and resorts—offering our students and graduates exciting training opportunities and vast scope for professional growth in this industry.  The Hotel, Tourism and Event Management degree at EUC covers business principles of hotel, tourism and event enterprises, including revenue and pricing, culinary business management, human resource management, as well as destination planning and sustainable development, event organization and international marketing strategies. Our students gain practical training in internships and placements concurrent with their studies.  Graduates enjoy success in a range of industries from five-star resorts to corporate event, conference and summit organizers and public tourism authorities.  The degree also prepares students for advanced studies at the MBA level or in specialized management fields.

How to apply

The general admission requirement for all undergraduate programs is the successful completion of the secondary education cycle.

  1. A completed application form together with a non-refundable fee of €52. 
  2. Official copy of High School Leaving Certificate and grade marksheet in English
  3. Proof of English language proficiency (if any)*
  4. Copy of a valid passport (for international applicants only)

Qualification requirements

The general admission requirement for all undergraduate programs is the successful completion of the secondary education cycle. All applicants will need to submit the following documents to the Office of Admissions

Student classification – as freshman, sophomore, junior or senior – depends upon the number of ECTS successfully completed. The ECTS for each classification are:

Freshman

0-60 ECTS

Sophomore

61-120 ECTS

Junior

121-180 ECTS

Senior

180 or more ECTS

 

Students may register as part-time or full-time, depending on ECTS per semester and period of study.

 Requirements for full-time students: 

*Fall and Spring Semester: up to 30 ECTS

*Summer Session: up to 15 ECTS

Additional entry requirements

English language requirements

Knowledge of the English language is not a requirement for admission. At European University Cyprus, applicants whose native language is not English take the university’s English Placement Test (EPT) upon arrival at the university to indicate their English level and be placed in appropriate courses. Applicants who have passed either the TOEFL examination with a minimum score of 550 (213 computer-based, 79 Internet-based), English IGCSE with grade ‘C’ or above, or IELTS with a score of 6.5 or above are exempted from the EPT. Other external exams may be accepted by the Language Center of the University as equivalent. Please consult with the Office of Admissions for more details. Candidates, whose English proficiency is not up to the university’s standard, have the opportunity to take additional English language classes according to their degree requirements.
