Tο Πρόγραμμα Φυσικοθεραπείας του Πανεπιστημίου Λευκωσίας προσφέρει το Διδακτορικό Δίπλωμα ?Φυσικοθεραπεία ” (PhD in Physiotherapy) το οποίο απευθύνεται σε φοιτητές που επιθυμούν να εξειδικευτούν σε ερευνητικά γνωστικά αντικείμενα της σύγχρονης Φυσικοθεραπείας συμπεριλαμβανομένης της Κλινικής Εμβιομηχανικής.
Στόχος του προγράμματος είναι να προσφέρει στους υποψήφιους διδάκτορες τις θεωρητικές και πρακτικές στρατηγικές της πειραματικής έρευνας στα πεδία της Φυσικοθεραπείας, της Αποκατάστασης και της Κλινικής Εμβιομηχανικής. Οι φοιτητές θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να αναπτύξουν τις κατάλληλες δεξιότητες ώστε να εκτελούν ανεξάρτητα μία καινοτόμο έρευνα που σχετίζεται με το πεδίο της επιλογής τους.
Το πρόγραμμα είναι δομημένο με τέτοιο τρόπο ώστε να προσφέρει στους υποψήφιους διδάκτορες εις βάθος ακαδημαϊκές και πρακτικές γνώσεις στο σύγχρονο ερευνητικό εξοπλισμό της Αποκατάστασης και της Κλινικής Εμβιομηχανικής. Το πρόγραμμα κατευθύνει τους φοιτητές στην μεθοδική κατανόηση του σχεδιασμού, της μεθοδολογίας και της εκτέλεσης της έρευνας καθώς και στην τροποποίησή της ανάλογα με τα αποτελέσματα. Με το τέλος του προγράμματος οι φοιτητές θα είναι σε θέση να μεταδώσουν τις ειδικές γνώσεις και τα συμπεράσματα που απέκτησαν μέσα από την εξειδικευμένη έρευνά τους, σε συναδέλφους Φυσικοθεραπευτές, σε άλλους επιστήμονες υγείας και γενικότερα σε όλους τους ειδικούς που σχετίζονται με την Αποκατάσταση και την Κλινική Εμβιομηχανική (βιολόγους, μηχανικούς, κτλ).

Ο ελάχιστος χρόνος φοίτησης είναι τρία (3) χρόνια και ο μέγιστος οκτώ (8). Για την απονομή του Διδακτορικού τίτλου ο φοιτητής θα πρέπει να συλλέξει 180 Διδακτικές Μονάδες (ECTS).

Admission to our University is granted under different categories, depending on the student’s qualifications and educational objectives.
Once accepted on the program, students are assigned three supervisors, one main and two secondary, who guide them throughout their studies. There are frequent progress reports to ensure students receive the guidance they need and that they are on track. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with their supervisors at regular intervals. After the course(s) is/are completed successfully, students prepare a final research proposal, which is a detailed document of length 7.500-10.000 words that outlines their research plan, clearly showing theoretical contribution, and methodological approach suggested. When this is approved by the relevant committee, they proceed with their research and register for their thesis.
Starting dates for enrolling on the programs are Fall (October) and Spring (February). The application deadlines are August 31st for Fall entry and January 5th for Spring entry. Specific positions available (by department and by faculty member) are announced on the website, and interested students are advised to check the website regularly for possible new announced positions. To be considered for entry on the doctoral programs the applicant should complete an online application form and submits an initial research proposal. The research proposal is a significant part of the application.

The tuition of €15,000 shown above represents total tuition for 3 years. For each additional academic year
