Course Summary

The Master Program in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation aims to:

  • combine advanced theoretical, clinical and practical training all of which enhances students’ assessment and treatment skills in a variety of musculoskeletal, and neurological related injuries and pathologies.
  • Provide to the graduates the appropriate capabilities to collaborate with other health professionals in consulting patients with musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.
  • prepare students to interpret and participate in research in the fields of musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy.
  • reflect in a modern way the most contemporary research trends in the fields of musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy.
  • place special emphasis on the development of clinical reasoning skills that guide clinical decision making regarding prevention as well as rehabilitation following musculoskeletal or neurological pathologies.
  • Provide to graduates scientific and professional qualifications as advanced and specialized practitioners in the domains of Musculoskeletal and Neurological Physiotherapy. They will advance their employability opportunities in the private and public sector as specialized physiotherapists, in physiotherapy clinics, rehabilitation centres, hospitals and sport clubs.

Career Prospects

The programme mainly aims to attract professional Physiotherapists who want to specialize in the treatment of Musculoskeletal and Neurological Injuries and Pathologies.

Graduates may be employed in the private and public sector as specialized physiotherapists, in physiotherapy clinics, in rehabilitation centres, in hospitals and in sports clubs. In addition, they will have the opportunity to work as Self Employed Specialists of musculoskeletal and neurological physiotherapy.

των 10 ECTS το καθένα. Συνολικά πρέπει να καλύψουν μέγιστο αριθμό 30 ECTS. Η

Assessment Method

Course assessment usually comprises of a comprehensive final exam and continuous assessment. Continuous assessment can include amongst others, mid-terms, projects, and class participation.

Letter grades are calculated based on the weight of the final exam and the continuous assessment and the actual numerical marks obtained in these two assessment components. Based on the course grades the student’s semester grade point average (GPA) and cumulative point average (CPA) are calculated.

Admission Requirements

The minimum admission requirement is a recognized High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC). Students with a lower HSLC grade than 7.5/10 or 15/20 or equivalent, depending on the grading system of the country issuing the HSLC, are provided with extra academic guidance and monitoring during the first year of their studies. Some programmes have higher entry requirements
