The number of student enrolments in Cyprus is increasing every year.

According to the statistical analyses of the Ministry of Education for the academic years 2016-2019 about 25.000 Cypriots each year choose to study in Cyprus universities, 18.000 European students chose Cyprus as their country of study and 10.000 students from third countries.
Some of the Cypriot universities are ranked among the 500 best universities in the world as private institutions/universities that have been operating for over 50 years, winning global awards.

Students can transfer credits to any other university worldwide. A wide range of courses and curricula are taught in English and Greek at public and private universities.
Usually, the duration of studies is no longer than 4 years following the American educational model where the student takes compulsory courses and courses of his/her choice. In addition, students have the opportunity to attend courses offered by specific professional bodies such as ACCA or ICAEW.
The academics who staff the universities and colleges in Cyprus are of excellent reputation because of their writing and research work.  There are many who have been honoured at various international conferences and by European organisations. The universities and colleges of Cyprus are made up of Cypriot academics and scholars who come from abroad and even hold doctoral degrees from the best universities in the UK and USA.
