In 2005, the AEGIA School of Fine and Applied Arts operated a theater school for children, teenagers and an amateur experimental group of adults. The idea of setting up theater groups matured through long-term productive and selfless collaboration with professionals in the field and aims at the development of expression and the unfolding of the human soul, which are the greatest freedom that being involved in the theater can give.
The aim of the theater groups of the Aegea school is to contribute to the development of theater art in Cyprus and to the creation of quality theater and by extension visual culture in Cypriot society, with a stable core of actors and their enrichment with professionals who will be given the most ideal conditions to develop their theatrical education and stage expression, to plan, be inspired, create and teach as actors, dramatists, directors, set designers, artists, choreographers, performers... The love of the group members, the recognition of what is offered project, the great development of theater groups and society's thirst for theater education, showed us the way to realize our vision.
The AEGAIA theater is housed in a purely artistic production environment of modern art forms, in a building that connects and combines the ancient, the traditional and the modern. The formation of this alternative space gives the possibility of direct contact between actor and spectator, a fact which is the object of exploitation and corresponding visual intervention in theatrical works for the development of new ways of interpretation, especially in relation to the way of presentation and viewing. The cohabitation of theater and visual arts in the same space will hopefully lead to a new way of expression, presentation and treatment.

Drama Examination preparation: Aigaia is a registered centre for LAMDA as a teaching, organising and delivering all levels of examinations of all “performing arts” subjects. Exam preparation groups are offered in the English language. The exam preparation is offered with no additional fees.

At Theatro Aigaia we play theatre to give a way out to our energy and imagination. To develop our expressive means, to “unblock” our body and our voice, to free ourselves from all kinds of molds. Because it gives us the opportunity to enter other worlds, to transform, to experience different situations, to face problems, dilemmas and passions and to exorcise them. To make new friends and try to achieve positive goals together. Because we love “beautiful” and love “art”, and theatre is inclusive of all the arts. To communicate messages, to move, to entertain, to have fun!
The workshops are aimed at teenagers of all ages and levels, with or without experiences.
The program includes 1-2 meetings per week, and includes: Acting, improvisation, theatrical play, movement, rhythm, speech education, theatrical singing.
