Since the sea hides many dangers, the cooperation of the actors becomes necessary to deal with them.Thus, because of this need to safeguard and protect the interests of the various exposed parties to maritime risks, the institution of marine insurance was developed, which, with variations, is still in force today. Marine insurance is the most important branch of non-life insurance. Its importance for the economy is therefore enormous, as it is directly linked to the protection of maritime trade from losses that may be caused as a consequence of maritime risks, especially if it is taken into account that the shipping industry is vulnerable to major risks with incalculable consequences.
