Course Summary
The training course on Payment Monitoring is 27 hours in 9 three-hour presentations. The programme will be delivered in both Greek and English for ease of understanding and using English terms. It is aimed at accounting/legal/service bureaus, banking and payment institutions in the context of providing basic knowledge in the area of FC & FCT especially in the area of Payment Monitoring and sanctions and/or ensuring regular training.

Purpose of the programme
The purpose of the programme is to train the trainees in Payment Monitoring in connection with the application of international sanctions.
Upon completion of the programme the trainees will be able to:
Level of knowledge
- recognise what is seen next for compliance purposes in the international actor
- list international and local maritime and other sanctions
- distinguish the responsibilities and consequences (including penalties) of non-compliance with laws and regulations
Skill level
- develop techniques to monitor transactions
- discover methods of XFX
- decode data in relation to KYC (Know your customer) identification
- manage cases according to the knowledge they have acquired
- monitor KYT customer transactions through the use of systems
- discover information needed to monitor ships from specific systems.
- verify information in relation to suspicious and/or illegal activities
- distinguish any suspicious behaviour
Attitude level
- question everything without satisfactory documentation
- adopt investigative practices and controls in accordance with procedures
- reject suspicious/controversial cases
- refute unacceptable risks
- adopt tactics in accordance with international sanction rules
