Course Summary

 The MSc in Computer Science at EUC enables students from other disciplines (e.g., Mathematics, Physics, Education), along with Computer Science graduates, to develop advanced skills and knowledge in core and specialized topics in the field. Following a comprehensive and global view of computer science’s core areas, students choose a specialization in an emerging technological area such as Machine Learning, Web Technologies and Human-Computer Interaction. A major component of the program is the research project in which students undertake independent, scientific research and development work, preparing them to undertake PhD level studies or enter a wide range of careers across countless industries.

How to apply

The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s degree in areas other than Computer Science. Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and related areas might also apply if they wish to obtain a deeper understanding in core areas of computer science and to enhance their knowledge in some emerging areas of the field. If deemed necessary, the Department may:

  • invite the candidate to an interview;
  • request from the candidate additional information, as well as adopt any additional criteria.

The general admission requirement for graduate programs is the successful completion of a bachelor’s degree at an accredited institution, or its equivalent (professional qualifications). All applicants will need to submit the following documents to the Office of Admissions  in electronic form to admit@euc.ac.cy, in order to be considered for admission:

 

 

  • A completed application form together with a non-refundable fee of €52. Applicants may also apply online here.
  • Official copy of a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in English (or official copies of professional qualifications)
  • Official copy of academic transcript, in English
  • Official copy of High School Leaving Certificate and grade marksheet in English
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if any)
  • One recommendation letter
  • Proof of work experience (if applicable)

Additional entry requirements

The general admission requirement for all undergraduate programs is the successful completion of the secondary education cycle. All applicants will need to submit the following documents to the Office of Admissions

English language requirements

Knowledge of the English language is not a requirement for admission. At European University Cyprus, applicants whose native language is not English take the university’s English Placement Test (EPT) upon arrival at the university to indicate their English level and be placed in appropriate courses. Applicants who have passed either the TOEFL examination with a minimum score of 550 (213 computer-based, 79 Internet-based), English IGCSE with grade ‘C’ or above, or IELTS with a score of 6.5 or above are exempted from the EPT. Other external exams may be accepted by the Language Center of the University as equivalent. Please consult with the Office of Admissions for more details. Candidates, whose English proficiency is not up to the university’s standard, have the opportunity to take additional English language classes according to their degree requirements.
